In a separate bowl, beat heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold the whipped cream into the lemon pudding mixture until fully incorporated and smooth.

In a large trifle bowl or individual serving glasses, arrange 1/3 of the vanilla wafer cookies on the bottom. Spread 1/3 of the lemon curd evenly over the cookies, then cover with 1/3 of the pudding mixture. Repeat the layering twice more, finishing with pudding on top. Reserve a small portion of lemon curd for garnish, if desired.
