03 - 454 grams cream cheese, softened
04 - 360 grams powdered sugar
05 - 5 ml vanilla extract

07 - Red sanding sugar, for decoration

# Step-by-Step Directions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 175°C. Line a muffin tin with paper liners. Prepare chocolate cupcakes following package instructions. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
02 - In a large bowl, beat butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
03 - Transfer approximately one third of the frosting into a separate bowl. Add red food coloring to the remaining frosting in the large bowl and mix until evenly colored.
04 - Using a piping bag fitted with a large star tip, pipe the red frosting onto each cupcake in a tall conical shape resembling a Santa hat. Sprinkle red sanding sugar over the red frosting. Then, with a smaller star tip, pipe white frosting around the base and tip to complete the look.
