Lightly butter the cut sides of English muffins. Place cut side down on a medium skillet over medium heat and toast until golden and crisp, about 2–3 minutes.

Arrange sausage patties in the skillet. Cook over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side, flipping once, until deeply browned and cooked through. Transfer to a plate.

Grease ring molds or use wide mouth mason jar lids. Set onto the skillet and crack one egg into each. Cook eggs until whites are set and yolks reach desired consistency, 2–3 minutes. For set tops, add a splash of water and cover to steam.

Place a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each toasted muffin. Top each with a hot sausage patty, then a cooked egg. Cover with the muffin tops so the residual heat melts the cheese.

Serve sandwiches immediately for optimal texture. To make ahead, wrap tightly in foil or parchment and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
