Preheat the oven to 175°C.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and chopped onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and the onions are softened, about 7 minutes. Drain the excess fat.

Sprinkle onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper over the beef mixture. Stir to combine thoroughly.

Add cream of mushroom soup, cheddar cheese soup, and drained sliced potatoes to the skillet. Mix until evenly incorporated.

Transfer the mixture to a 2-litre baking dish and level the top. Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese evenly over the surface.

Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20–30 minutes, until the centre is heated through and the cheese has fully melted.

Remove from oven, let rest 5 minutes, and serve warm.
