Cucumber Lime Agua Fresca (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Base

01 - 2 large regular cucumbers, unpeeled, ends trimmed
02 - 1 litre cold water

→ Flavorings

03 - 60 grams granulated sugar, or to taste
04 - 60 millilitres freshly squeezed lime juice
05 - 1 pinch fine sea salt

→ To Serve

06 - Ice cubes, as needed

# Step-by-Step Directions:

01 - Cut the cucumbers into chunks and transfer them to a blender. Add the cold water, granulated sugar, lime juice, and a pinch of salt.
02 - Blend on high speed until the mixture is very smooth and the sugar has fully dissolved.
03 - Pour the blended liquid through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher. Use a spoon to press out as much liquid as possible, discarding the solids. Skipping straining is optional for a more rustic texture.
04 - Fill glasses generously with ice cubes. Pour the cucumber agua fresca over ice and serve immediately.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - Lime juice can be substituted with freshly squeezed lemon for a different citrus note.
02 - For a fizzy version, replace still water with chilled sparkling water and add just before serving.
03 - Add 1-2 tablespoons of chia seeds after straining for added texture and nutrition.
04 - Mixture can be made ahead and refrigerated up to 2 days; add ice right before serving to prevent dilution.
