06 - 100 g granulated sugar
07 - 80 g packed brown sugar
08 - 240 ml apple cider

→ To Serve (Optional)

# Step-by-Step Directions:

01 - Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease a 23 x 33 cm baking dish or extra-large cast iron skillet.
02 - Peel, core, and cut apples into 16 even wedges.
03 - Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon evenly over the apple slices.
04 - Place one apple slice and a few cranberries on each crescent roll triangle. Roll up dough around filling from wide end to point. Arrange filled dumplings in prepared pan in two rows, leaving space between each.
05 - In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, and remaining 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Stir well and bring to a boil.
06 - Pour the hot butter-sugar mixture evenly over dumplings. Then pour apple cider around just the edges of the pan.
07 - Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until dumplings are golden brown and bubbling.
08 - Spoon dumplings and sauce onto plates. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - An apple corer speeds up preparation and reduces risk of injury.
02 - Bake until the dumplings are crisp and golden brown for the best texture.
03 - You may make the sauce ahead and refrigerate until use.
