Preheat oven to 200°C.

Arrange tater tots in a single layer in a baking dish and bake for 10 minutes to start crisping.

While tater tots bake, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and diced onion and cook, breaking up the meat, until beef is fully browned and onions are soft. Drain any excess fat.

Stir Montreal Steak Seasoning into the beef mixture. Add cheddar cheese soup, sour cream, and chopped cooked bacon and mix until evenly combined.

Spread the beef mixture evenly in the baking dish. Layer the partially baked tater tots over the meat. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.

Return the dish to the oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and tater tots are golden and crispy.

Allow to cool briefly. Serve hot for best taste and texture.
