Apple Cranberry Orange Sauce (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit

01 - 300 g fresh or frozen cranberries
02 - 2 medium Fuji apples, peeled, cored, and diced (about 250 g)

→ Liquid & Sweetener

03 - 120 ml orange juice
04 - 100 g packed dark brown sugar

→ Spice

05 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

# Step-by-Step Directions:

01 - Place cranberries, diced apples, orange juice, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon into a small saucepan.
02 - Cook the fruit mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens to a jam-like consistency, about 15–20 minutes. Reduce to low heat if the mixture begins to boil too rapidly.
03 - For a smoother texture, gently mash the cranberries and apples with a spoon during cooking. For a jellied result, press the cooked mixture through a sieve to remove skins and pulp.
04 - Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the sauce to cool. Serve warm or at room temperature with holiday dishes.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - Adjust sugar to taste for a more or less tart sauce.
02 - Substitute orange juice with apple juice, water, or grape juice for a different flavor profile.
03 - Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
